Dum dum ditty.

Today I listened to this, this and  the Grease soundtrack. I danced in the garden. And I had apple juice. Which  reminds me of that little classmate from kindergarten.  Every day we had to sit in a circle and share a short story with the group. Every day this little boy that I knew said the same thing: 'This morning I had a cheese sandwich' and one day the toddler Ibe got so fed up -I was already very critical.- that she interrupted him and said: 'OH WAIT I KNOW YOU HAD A CHEESE SANDWICH ! GOD! RIGHT?!' And he said: 'No I didn't I had one with chocolate' and he smiled selfpleased. We never got along after that. So today I had apple juice.  And I wore this:
I really wanted to dress like Sandy from Grease, meets the Pink Ladies  meets Courtney Love. Bad printscreen, je sais, je sais. That's my impressive Français that I am trying on you. Well, I need to bring my French lessons in practise .  Note the grey shiny tie I snatched way from my father's cupboard. Black cat eye sunglasses. Courtney & Kurt shirt from Heartschallenger. Old pink pleated granny skirt. The pearl bracelet was a gift. Black platform lace up boots. And mind this: I'VE GOT A NEW CAMERA. A Nikon D3100. Neatness.
From left to right: Pascal Ogier in Les Nuits De La Pleine Lune. Matilda Wormwood. Alice In Wonderland. Dorothy Gale.
My inpiration for my weird tie wrap hair thing. OMGZZZ ARTSY! Erm.

Why scanners, socks with holes and the album 'Dreamboat Annie' by Heart are among the best things in the world. A manifesto by Ibe R.

Bombastic title. I like "bombastic". It is a nice word to pronounce . Erm. W-A-T-H-E-V-A-A-H. Eye roll and bitch face.

So my outfit today. Inspired by how a teen witch in a late seventies/early eighties tv series would look like when she was a Riot Grrrl. 'Here comes/There goes a Riot Grrrl' shirt - Heartschallenger.
Black pleated skirt - American Apparel. My white 'holy communion' panty. Black hole socks - Beyond Retro. Black plateau lace-up boots. BLACK HOLE SOCKS ARE BRILLIANT. They are so schoolgirl meets teen witch meets punker. So as you can see from the pictures, I have been messing around with the copier/scanner. And I have been thinking lately that the back of a polaroid is beautiful as well. And actually utterly underrated! I mean look at this.

Once I did that, I started to mess some more. And decided to make a scanner collage. Seriously when you lose your camera in a taxi in London you need to be creative.

Japanese paper. Snow white and the seven dwarfs. Pipe cleaner heart. SCANNERS ARE
BRILLIANT.

I really really heart Heart. Because their music is really good and "Heart" is like a good name because on my iPod it comes right after 'Hole' and that's very practical. I am such a fool: once I had the opportunity to buy their concert video of 'Dreamboat Annie' and I just didn't. Dreamboat Annie has a neat cover too. Conclussion: HEART IS BRILLIANT.

Bingo Granny.

Thursday (WOMEN DAY!) I went to a 'Bloggers Day' organised by Unlimited PR. It was so much fun - I don't like the word fun. It's like 'FUN FUN FUN LITTLE FIVE YEARS OLD BIRTHDAY PARTY WITH A BALLOON CLOWN AND A PONY WITH A BOW TIE!'. Ehum. And since my camera got LOST -Spectacular, caps!-. I need to take my pictures with my dad's iPad. So my apologies here but I had tot shoot them with the Hipstamatic once more.
Confetti is one of the greatest inventions of mankind. Really.
DKNY Cupcake to promote their new line of fragrance called Sweet Delicous. As far as I am concerned cupcakes are totally overrated. Far too sweet and too sticky. Everybody goes like: 'OH CUPCAKES!!!!!!!!!!! I just looooooooooooveee cupcakes!'. But these cupcakes, seriously, were of a different kind: they were not sweet or sticky at all. And I liked them -Mildly put-.

Blue green fake fur thingy - vintage.
White dressing gown - Vintage
Butter yellow slip dress with lace - Vintage.
Shoes - Jeffrey Campbell for Sacha
The shoes are not my own. But there was a photoshoot for Sacha, and you had to choose your favorite pair of shoes and do a photoshoot. And I chose these ones though I really don't like Jeffrey Campbell. I find him a bit like the cupcakes. But look, they have CAT PRINT. Ok. Honestly I'm a crazy cat lady and I can't resist vintage feline prints.

My Camper moodboard.

Swatch timepiece that make me feel like Twiggy in the London sixties with a touch of punkster.

And to top it off, I played bingo. And guess what, I won. I actually won. With a prize and everything: the super soft leather Kipling iPad case. Later, when I am an old, old lady I am pretty sure I'll be first in class in Bingo and trump all the other grannies!

I am a teenager. I want to live!

David Bowie & Cry Baby by John Waters. This post is dedicated to them. My two current obsessions. Cry baby makes me want to live in some little district town and frequently use the word 'hep' in my vocabulary. And David Bowie makes me want to dye my hair red/orange and wear eye popping glitter catsuits and dance.

Some Cry Baby film stills - I borrowed the DVD from a friend- films stills (read print screens) I made. 1. Turkey Point swim club. 2. Neat girl that smokes and swims in an orange floral swimsuit. 3. Mrs Vernon-Williams. 4. Mr and Mrs Hackett. 5. Allison Vernon-Williams. 6&8. Wanda Woodward. 7. The enchanted forest.Cry-Baby is one of the movies that deserve a spot in my 'all time favorite' list. Though it isn't really realistic, is it now? -Ehum. Spontaneous sing out scenes.-. But there is stuff that is like so obvious. Like the utterly embarassing parental moments such as the scene with Wanda and the father who proposes a car ride to count number plates from other districts. All those amazing things that John Waters can bring in the film without going over the top. I am referring to fifties fashion & music, theme parks, very religious parents, swimming clubs, etc. And I think it is so nice that John Waters didn't cast the regular actors but different types. So that was my Cry-Baby love letter thing.

Stills from the David Bowie videoclip: 'Let's dance'. This video is really beautiful. It feels like I am the one running from a mountain in Australia and kicking red shoes. David Bowie for president! Bowie has never been afraid of being different. And he makes wonderfull music.

And I found a picture of me in my outfit sitting in front row at Paul Smith on VOGUE UK. Ok. This is definitely cool. Or at least I try to be. BUT I MEAN VOGUE UK! I was like totally in shock. And to celebrate this great feat, I am now playing my favorite Cry-Baby song.
